Security First Insurance Launches Hurricane Tracker App

The app is the industry's first-of-its-kind to track hurricanes.

Security First Insurance has launched the industry's first hurricane tracker app "Security First Mobile."  The interactive tool is free and available to customers and the general public on Apple iTunes and Google Play Store.

According to company CEO, Werner Kruck, "We created Security First Mobile because we live here in Florida and understand the implications of severe weather on family and friends.  We have hundreds of employees with their own families in the state and nearly 300,000 customers living in Florida.  The app is a key tool to help us all prepare properly, stay safe, and protect our homes during hurricane season which starts today."

One of the truly unique features of the app is that it can be used to pinpoint an exact address and track a storm's ever-changing path relative to that street address.  It also integrates social media platforms.  Users can choose to engage Facebook and Twitter via the app. That way out-of-state friends and family can be kept apprised of how a storm is tracking.

Werner added, "The foundation of our company culture rests on the tenet that Floridians deserve a reliable, customer-focused homeowners insurance company committed to protecting local families and homes.  This app is just one more way we can assist our community."

Headquartered in Ormond Beach, Fla., Security First Insurance is built on nearly 100 years of history and experience in the industry.  The company has an acute understanding of Floridians' vulnerability to natural catastrophe.  Company founder, Locke Burt, was serving in the Florida Senate in 1992 when Hurricane Andrew made landfall in Florida.  It was one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history, leaving behind more than $26 billion in insured losses and a crippled insurance industry.  Locke wanted better for his state and its residents and therefore created Security First Insurance.  The company now serves policyholders living across the state, storm after storm, year after year.
