For most of the students, getting information has never been easier. Gone are the days when one had to scan through huge books for that one line of information and now there is a wealth of knowledge available on the internet.

While the arrival of search engines eased the burden on the students, the smartphones have only eased it further. There are a number of apps out there which give easy access to information and simplify the problems that they are facing.

Looking to buy a scientific calculator, then all you have to buy is a smartphone. This works well on both iOS and Android and has plenty of options. This app is free, but offers functions more than most of the paid calculators.

Interactive Science Glossary: Life Science

Are you struggling with the life sciences? Here is an app that helps understand terms and concepts through simulations and videos. This might be of great help to the students as it is understood that the images and videos are the best form of learning and help the concepts better and the app has a collection of more than 100 terms and concepts.
 

NASA App

With all its explorations, NASA is spearheading innovations and stores a wealth of knowledge for any student. An attempt to make all those information available for the students is the NASA app. It has some of the latest images, videos, mission information, news, feature stories, tweets, NASA TV and featured content.

TED

With more than 1,400 TEDTalk videos and with more being added every week, the app connects one to a number of talks by some of the intellectuals. It includes talks from education radicals, tech geniuses, medical mavericks, business gurus and music legends. More importantly it has subtitles in more than 90 languages.

Word Wizard

Provides spelling practice for the students and is available only for the Apple products. The app can pronounce and spell-check an unlimited number of original words and sentences built using a phonics movable alphabet. Parents can also track the progress of your kids thanks to detailed reports.

LumiBook

The app is based out of cloud and provides a dynamic eReading platform. The biggest advantage over the static content is that this is constantly updated and always provides the latest content.
