Find Out How Much Money Tech-Giants Make In Seconds

We all know that tech-giants such as Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung have tones of money. The figure goes in thousands of billion dollars. For someone like me, who has never scouted beyond a few lakhs, these figures are difficult to comprehend.

Thankfully, the good guys at WorldPay Zinc have come up with an interactive website that shows how much money these big companies make in seconds. Apart from that, you can compare how much profit they make every second. To get some solid numbers, we let the process run for five seconds before grabbing this screenshot.

As you can see in the image above, Samsung generates whopping $37,491 revenue in five seconds. The Korean giant is followed by Apple with 29,807 dollars. There's a catch here though. Contrary to what you're thinking, Apple is the most profitable company despite generating less revenue than Samsung. This can be attributed to the difference between strategies. Samsung believes in carpet bombing the market, where some products click and others fail. On the other hand, Apple releases fewer products, but most of them do exceptionally in the market.

In five seconds, the Cupertino company makes $6459 (approx. Rs 391,673) , followed by Samsung with $4984 (Rs 302,229). Software-giant Microsoft grabs the third spot with $3813 (Rs 231,220), while Google settles for the 4th slot by generating $2130 (Rs 129,163). Other companies aren't lucky as these four though. For instance, HP beats Microsoft and Google in terms of revenue, but their profit is not so impressive $892. Amazon and Sony's revenue to profit ratio is even worse. They take home only around $130 and $178 in profit after doing business of more than 10k dollars.

LinkedIn makes $5 in profit. That's $1 per second. If you think that's bad, check out Twitter's finances. Forget making money, Twitter is bleeding money - $113 in five seconds. The social media company is spending more money than its revenue. I know it sounds harsh, but I feel that the company who invented hashtags #deserves #this.

From these numbers, it's clear that the biggest and most profitable companies in the tech world are Apple, Samsung, and Microsoft. Other technology companies such as HP and Sony aren’t great. The social networking websites, despite impressive valuation, are in big trouble when it comes to making real money.
