Reis & Irvy's, Robot-Staffed Frozen Yogurt Chain, Inks $3.2 Million Master Franchise Agreement in Knoxville, TN

Nasdaq Globewire - Thu, 20/09/2018 - 18:14

The Agreement Includes the Purchase of 16 Robotic Vending Kiosks Upfront with Commitments to Buy an Additional 59 Units

SAN DIEGO, CA, Sept. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via NEWMEDIAWIRE – Generation NEXT Franchise Brands, Inc. (OTCQB: VEND) announced today that its flagship subsidiary, Reis & Irvy’s, has signed an exclusive agreement with master franchise rights for the robot-staffed frozen yogurt and ice cream chain in Knoxville, TN, the state’s third largest city after Nashville and Memphis.

The $3.2 million exclusive territory deal includes contracts for 16 initial Reis & Irvy’s locations along with an agreement for an additional 59 locations (75 total) throughout the area as part of an agreement that secures the group’s exclusive rights to Knoxville.

Knoxville is the home of the flagship campus of the University of Tennessee, whose sports teams are extremely popular in the surrounding area. Knoxville is also home to the headquarters of the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Tennessee Supreme Court's courthouse for East Tennessee and the corporate headquarters of several national and regional companies. As one of the largest cities in the Appalachian region, Knoxville has positioned itself in recent years as a repository of Appalachian culture and is one of the gateways to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Nima Kioumarsi, the Knoxville exclusive franchisee, was originally attracted to the simplicity of the Reis & Irvy’s business model: “I was sold on the idea of unattended retail and semi-passive income. Reis & Irvy’s innovative franchise concept provides this kind of flexibility, and I am looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship.  I’m very proud to bring this to the friendly people of East Tennessee!”

“We couldn’t be more honored to work with the ever-growing number of both multi-unit and exclusive territory Reis & Irvy’s franchisees across the United States that are helping to grow the Reis & Irvy’s brand while launching their own hometown businesses.  Their vision and enthusiasm to bring this unique experience to their markets –each in their own way– along with their dedication to their communities and future customers, is an inspiration for everyone at Generation Next and Reis & Irvy’s,” said Nick Yates, Chairman of Generation Next Franchise Brands. “Nima, in particular, exemplifies these characteristics.

“More units are being delivered each day to eager franchisees and locations across the U.S. – and after a long period of development, beta testing and subsequent improvement, we’re pleased to say that the reviews are finally coming in from franchisees and customers alike – and they’re telling us we got it right.  Combined with our ever-expanding access to the choicest locations, refined technology, and premium products, suffice it to say we’re excited about the potential that each of the units we’re installing every day represents for our franchisees and our company,” Yates added.

Reis & Irvy’s: Franchise Expansion Highlights:

Since its debut, Reis & Irvy’s has grown to over 280 franchisees across the U.S. and represents over 1,400 pending robot installations aggregating approximately $60 million, with additional contract commitments for over 3,200 robots worth an estimated $129 million ($189 million in total) in potential future revenues for Generation NEXT Franchise Brands, Inc. One of the company’s more high-profile franchisees, PGA Championship golfer Phil Mickelson, announced an interest in the company, signing a contract in June to deploy 30 Reis & Irvy’s locations in Southern California.

With $189 million in franchise and licensing contracts, Generation NEXT Franchise Brands, Inc. (OTCQB: VEND) is leading the way with frozen desserts, fully autonomous robotic delivery, visual and audio entertainment, and a unique retail experience. The robots also accept cash, credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Wallet, and the company is working on accepting cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin for payment in the near future.

An Industry Disruptor

Generation Next Franchise Brands, Inc. (OTCQB: VEND) is the developer of the world's first fully-automated robotic frozen dessert vending kiosk designed to disrupt brick-and-mortar competitors. Reis & Irvy’s unattended robots eliminate the need for costly rents and employees; significantly reduce food safety concerns; and are capable of operating 24-hours a day.

Reis & Irvy’s-branded signature robot characters of the same name can dispense servings of frozen yogurt, ice cream, gelato and sorbet topped with a selection of six delicious toppings in under 60 seconds. With self-checkout touch screen ordering and payment options, video animation, music and delicious frozen dessert provided exclusively by Dannon, robot vendors meet consumers’ demand for immediate convenience, entertainment and a superior quality product - be it in shopping malls, medical centers and any other high-traffic area.

Large Video Distribution Upgrade a Success at Dakota Magic Casino Thanks to Key Digital’s Enterprise AV Over IP System

Nasdaq Globewire - Thu, 20/09/2018 - 17:30

Site On Sound utilizes Key Digital’s Enterprise AV™ over IP Solutions to complete a large video distribution upgrade at at Dakota Magic Casino in Harkinson, ND

Mount Vernon, NY, Sept. 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Set on the Fort Traverse Indian Reservation, Dakota Magic Casino has been a staple in the Harkinson, North Dakota area for twenty years. A destination like no other, Dakota Magic Casino offers guests an expansive golf course, a luxurious hotelthree delicious restaurants, and an entertainment lounge where visitors can grab a drink while dancing the night away to fabulous music.

With plans to add 30,000 square feet and renovate the existing infrastructure, the Dakota Magic Casino upgrades would include an ambitious and impressive all new and renovated casino floor, Twin Buffalo Grill, and Exit 1 Lounge for guests to enjoy. Turning to Key Digital’s trusted ecosystem of Enterprise AV over IP hardware and industry-leading control system, the integrators at Site On Sound were able to deliver the flawless installation that Dakota Magic Casino needed for their customers.

Working around the challenges of long cable distances, wiring restrictions in the existing infrastructure, time constraints, and performing the installation while still keeping the casino open and occupied 24 hours a day 7 days a week, the hardware and control solutions would have to work right the first time every time.

The extensive project was planned to take place in a span of multiple phases over multiple years, which made Key Digital’s easily expandable Enterprise AV over IP solution the perfect choice. Key Digital’s KD-IP1080TX and KD-IP1080RX HDMI over IP transmitter and receiver units with support for PoE (Power over Ethernet) were chosen to handle over 100 televisions throughout the entire building. The IP transmitters and receivers were designed to be utilized as a way to build an entire video infrastructure using IP video components. With PoE, power can be carried to Tx and Rx units with a Power Over Ethernet enabled Managed Network Switch. The KD-IP1080 are extremely low bandwidth, so they can easily connect to the building’s Cisco network switches via a fiber link port to add up to 1024 inputs and an infinite amount of outputs. These signals can be reliably sent up to 400' using CAT5e/6 UTP/STP cable, which was more than necessary with the long cable runs needed at Dakota Mafic Casino. Taking the job even further, additional screens have been added to the system since the initial installation. By simply adding the KD-IP1080RX with each screen no additional set-up or alterations of the Cisco or control system was required.

To easily maintain the audio and video in the massive building Key Digital’s Compass Control Pro provides seamless and customized control. Compass Control Pro is the most modern fully integrated control system in the AV industry built from the ground up using iOS devices to replace traditional control interfaces. The cost-effective software suite excels in video control functionality, a key element in the proliferation of digital signage and video collaboration. The design and layout of a Compass Control Pro interface has no limitations whether programmers use the sleek form of the pre-built modular scenes or fully customize a system starting with a blank slate. Compass Control Pro instantly integrates components from Compass Alliance Partners to create a simple plug-n-play system. Key Digital has partnered with industry leaders to enable Compass Control Pro’s control drivers and pre-configured GUI templates to streamline system development. The bi-directional drivers are crucial when providing real time metadata, and at the casino they can accurately understand what is happening with each television, DIRECTV receiver, the Rane Halogen audio DSP, and the digital signage players in the building. The network based bi-directional feedback provides ‘now playing’, ‘current channel’, audio routing, and other essential information so the staff can confidently route desired video and audio content to the screens. With 3 iPads mounted in the facility the Compass Control Pro program and its Compass Alliance Partners make control of the video and audio more portable than wall based control knobs so that any staff member at Dakota Magic Casino can easily navigate and manage the intuitive control system.

“We are delighted with how one little iPad can do so much to control our building. It was hard to imagine that such a universal device would be able to perform such customized control, but the Compass Control Pro software is so easy that every employee understands how to use it,” said the General Manager of Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel.

“Key  Digital’s great technical support team bent  over  backwards  to  assist  in  this  project,  and  I  would  not  have  been  able  to  do  it  without them. Both the Key Digital hardware and software have been flawless and easy to install, and the customer has had nothing but great reviews,” said Paul Hagen, Technology Integration Specialist for Site On Sound.

For 38 years Site On Sound has been one of the largest custom install specialty retailers in North Dakota.  They have the product knowledge and experience to handle the toughest design obstacles, and knew that with Key Digital they could handle the challenges thrown at them during the Dakota Magic Casino installation. Key Digital is an award winning developer and manufacturer of leading-edge technology, consistently delivering total video systems solutions. The company manufactures a wide range of digital video processing and video signal distribution solutions as well as control systems marketed broadly to the HDTV community, such as digital video and audio processors, switchers, distribution amplifiers, cables, adapters, and more.

Avid Announces Next Generation Maestro | Engine Real-time Graphics and Video Hardware Rendering Platform

Nasdaq Globewire - Fri, 14/09/2018 - 15:30

New graphics and video hardware rendering platform gives users the performance, scalability and format support they need to produce stunning broadcast graphics, virtual studios, augmented reality, and video wall content in the highest achievable quality

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, Sept. 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IBC (Hall 7, Stand B.55) -- Avid® (Nasdaq: AVID), the leading technology provider that powers the media and entertainment industry, today announced the next generation Maestro™ | Engine real-time graphics and video hardware rendering platform for its Maestro Graphics product line. Maestro | Engine scales from HD and 1080P to UHD supporting both SDI and Video Over IP interfaces. With Maestro | Engine, broadcasters can produce graphics, virtual studios, augmented reality and video wall content in the industry’s highest achievable quality.

As the successor to Avid HDVG, Maestro | Engine enables broadcasters to introduce new production capabilities—including 3G, UHD, HDR, and IP workflows—alongside their current HD/SD SDI workflows, with minimal disruption. Available in two configurations—Maestro | Engine and Maestro | Engine 4K—the platform works with all Maestro graphics suite solutions, providing performance, scalability, and format support to surpass customers’ current and future broadcast requirements.

“As broadcast production evolves, broadcasters increasingly need flexible, future-proof graphics rendering hardware to enable them to tell more compelling stories,” said Ray Thompson, Director of Broadcast and Media Solutions Marketing at Avid. “The new Maestro | Engine enables customers to differentiate and elevate their content with compelling data-driven augmented reality graphics and virtual sets delivered in real time. Maestro | Engine hardware supports IP I/O and delivers the performance and reliability required for any news, sports, or other broadcast content engaging audiences in new ways.”

Maestro | Engine enables customers to:

  • Scale I/O according to their needs
Maestro | Engine is available in two hardware configurations that can be scaled for any production need. The Maestro | Engine base system offers up to eight video insertions and up to four outputs, including fill and key, to handle most standard CG needs and dual channel production. To tackle more demanding UHD, video wall, and virtual studio productions, Maestro | Engine 4K offers up to 16 video insertions and up to eight outputs—or up to four fill and four key outputs for UHD production.
  • Manage multiple systems to support complex broadcast workflows
With enhanced performance and rendering power, Maestro | Engine works across all Maestro graphics suite authoring and control solutions both new and old, providing backwards compatibility so existing content and production will continue to work without any issues.
  • Switch from an SDI workflow to IP with ease
Maestro | Engine not only works with any SDI infrastructure, it makes it easy to transition to Video Over IP using a broadcaster’s existing 10Gb fiber network and field-changeable interface boards, so they can make the upgrade gradually at their own pace to experience better cost savings and greater bandwidth for high-resolution media.
  • Produce stunning SD, HD and UHD content
Maestro | Engine works in concert with Maestro | RenderEngine software, providing advanced graphics rendering in the highest quality possible—whether displayed onscreen or in the studio. It also can drive content to multiple canvases, scale content up or down, and crop it. This makes it easy to preview large-scale video walls with a single HD feed, reducing system complexity and cost.
  • Achieve unparalleled realism
To elevate virtual studio productions to cinematic quality, Maestro | Engine 4K works with both Maestro | RenderEngine and Epic’s Unreal Engine. Users get the power and flexibility to present stunning virtual environments full of realism, depth, and detail. Because only Avid engines can run simultaneously on a single Maestro | Engine 4K, users can render all virtual studio elements using Unreal Engine while overlaying data-driven augmented reality graphics with Maestro | RenderEngine.
  • Get flawless, versatile performance
Featuring a proprietary I/O card that delivers ultra-low-latency video transfer, Maestro | Engine maintains a constant two frames of delay from input to output for seamless object mapping and audio handling. The Maestro | Engine is also capable of real-time graphics, video compositing and rendering, with scalable inputs, fill and key outputs. Its open API enables users to create their own control applications.
  • Have flexibility for the future
To ensure a high return on investment, customers need a system that can grow with them as their workflow and technologies evolve. The Maestro | Engine platform is built for today’s and tomorrow’s broadcast needs, supporting SD, HD, UHD, and (coming soon) HDR workflows. It offers field-changeable interface boards, so users can transition from SDI to IP whenever they’re ready. Support for new technologies and features will be made available through software updates.
  • Integrate video playback
Maestro | Engine handles live video sources and plays back video stored on its local drive, Avid NEXIS®, or other network storage device. It has two 1GbE connections and a 10GbE option for more demanding video transfers. Users can create compelling visuals using video clips as background elements or as textures mapped onto scene objects. Maestro | Engine supports a wide range of codecs—including Avid DNxHD/DNxHR, XDCAM 50, AVC-I, XAVC-I, and QT RLE.
  • Manage systems from anywhere
Users don’t need to install additional client software or have a systems administrator tethered to the machine room to manage and configure settings. Maestro | Engine uses a web-based interface for all systems management. Users can set up and make changes to access rights, video formats, genlock sources, input and output mapping, and other settings from any computer or device on their network—from anywhere.
  • Protect their production
Maestro | Engine is built to withstand the demands of 24/7 operation. It features dual power supplies, dual network interfaces, and software and hardware watchdog preventing production interruptions. And, because all Maestro graphics suite applications can control multiple Maestro | Engines, users can deploy additional engines as live backups to on-air systems.

Maestro | Engine and Maestro | Engine 4K will ship in the fourth quarter of 2018. For more information, visit

The Plum Guide Launches in Four New Cities; New York, LA, Rome and Milan

Nasdaq Globewire - Thu, 13/09/2018 - 21:16

Celebrates with Audio Tours Revealing Unique Stories Behind its Exceptional Vacation Homes

New York, NY, Sept. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
London-born vacation rental start-up, The Plum Guide – a collection of the world’s best homes – has launched in four new markets: New York City, Los Angeles, Rome & Milan.

To celebrate the expansion, the company is showcasing some of its most unique vacation properties via immersive and experiential audio tours, turning them into gallery exhibits and walking guests through their rich history, art & design concepts and giving them an inside track on their exciting neighborhoods, all of which qualified them for a Plum Guide nomination – the most selective collection of vacation rental homes.

The Plum Guide will debut museum-quality audio tours for homes in each of the four new cities, including a massive Greenwich Village loft teeming with music and art history located just above the iconic site of Gerde’s Folk City and The Village Underground; a storied Los Angeles villa where the iconic film Frankenstein was shot; a rare antiquity-filled Roman apartment with sweeping terrace views of the Colosseum and Presidential Palace and a chic 5-story condo in Milan’s design district with high design & tech concepts and links to one of Italy’s most celebrated poets.

The Plum Guide has partnered with leading design critic and Editor-in-Chief of Design Milk, Jaime Derringer, to lend her voice for the gallery-inspired audio tours and to unwrap the stories hidden within The Plum Guide’s highly curated selection of lofts, villas, mini-mansions and chic apartments. The custom audio tours highlight the some of the many criteria considered by The Plum Guide's expert home critics, as well as the thoughtful touches by hosts behind some of the world's best homes. Listeners can find the tours via iTunes and Spotify.

“We choose each new market just as carefully as we select every home that makes it onto The Plum Guide,” said founder Doron Meyassed. “These cities are known for their rich culture and creative arts scenes, as well as their soulful & diverse neighborhoods. We don't think there's a better way to showcase the incredible new homes we're adding to the collection than by borrowing the gallery audio tour concept to illuminate how truly special they are.”

About The Plum Guide:

Founded in the U.K. in 2016, The Plum Guide has since expanded to Paris, and now New York, Los Angeles, Milan and Rome. Solving for the lack of objective quality control and choice overload in the homestay market, The Plum Guide separates the good from the great in the vacation rental category via their proprietary “Perfect Stay Test”, the world’s most exhaustive home test. Powered by Plum's Science Behind the Perfect Stay research, their 150+ point test leverages an innovative combination of big data and expert human curation to select its definitive collection of the world's best homes. As the world's first independent expert arbiter of quality in the homestay space, The Plum Guide is to vacation rentals what the Michelin Guide is to restaurants.

The Science Behind the Perfect Stay is a continually-evolving body of knowledge developed by analyzing thousands of customer reviews and gathering insights from psychologists, designers, hoteliers, travelers and architects on the precise ingredients a space needs to deliver a perfect stay. This knowledge informs the criteria in a test so rigorous that only 1 in every 100 homes is selected to be part of The Plum Guide’s collection.

  • New York City: Sitting atop The Village Underground and the former site of Gerde’s Folk City, where legends like Bob Dylan got their start, this enormous airy loft has a marvelous music history all its own. These 15 foot ceilings also housed artists like Bud Hopkins, whose paintings hang on the walls, and who, fascinatingly, may be considered the father of the modern alien-abduction conspiracy theory. Current owner Alex Mallory shares stories of how the loft was a gathering place for Village artists in his father’s day, and how he and a friend helped bring indie music back to the Village with their underground rock club, “Less Artists More Condos”, housed right inside this loft.
  • Los Angeles: Tucked into the hills of Los Feliz, Villa Sophia is a historic Tuscan-inspired property from legendary architect Herbert H. Hewitt. Built in 1926 it has a true Hollywood heritage being where James Whale, the visionary director of Frankenstein, developed some of Hollywood’s most enduring films. These days this picturesque villa is a popular location for film, TV, and editorial photo shoots. Hear those tales and more in the story of this sprawling estate and its unique place in the pop culture pantheon.
  • Milan: In a city known for its high design concepts, this home in Milan’s canal district is steps from the Navigli gallery district and near the site of Milan Design Week. Explore the 5-story former industrial space, designed by the famed architectural firm of Roberto Piana, with its custom Turkish bath, home theater, unique tech-forward interior design, and a collection of Milanese contemporary art that would be at home hanging in any one of Milan’s cutting edge galleries.
  • Rome: The epitome of Roman taste and classic style. Known for its curated collection of antique furnitures, paintings, beamed and coffered ceilings the owner has created a truly magical atmosphere and sense of place. The home emanates history from each and every furnishing, and its terrace view stretches from the Colosseum to the iconic Presidential Palace.

Synaptics AudioSmart Far-Field Voice Technology Brings Voice Control to Service Provider Set-Top-Boxes for Ultimate TV Experience

Nasdaq Globewire - Thu, 13/09/2018 - 17:30

New Solutions Include Powerful VideoSmart VS-550 SoC w/Built-in FFV for New Smart STBs, and a USB Plug-in Accessory for Existing STBs

IBC 2018 CONFERENCE, AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, and SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Synaptics Incorporated (NASDAQ: SYNA), the leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced two new AudioSmart® Far-Field Voice (FFV) solutions for both emerging and legacy set-top-boxes (STBs). For new STBs, Synaptics has fully integrated its AudioSmart FFV capabilities directly into its VideoSmart™ VS-550 multimedia processors, providing unmatched performance and lower bill of materials. For the millions of existing STBs already deployed, users can simply connect via USB a Synaptics-enabled standalone accessory and instantly add a voice assistant to their television services.

Consumer demand for smart speakers to control music and home automation is rapidly growing, and smart home users now expect to be able to naturally use their voice to control their TV experience without having to hunt for a custom remote control. Synaptics’ new AudioSmart FFV and VideoSmart solutions represent a powerful blend of the latest voice, audio and video technologies that enhance capabilities of Android STBs while enabling them to be more space- and cost-efficient. That combination benefits consumers and the television ecosystem including service providers, STB makers, and USB plug-in device makers.

“Through our strategic acquisitions of innovative companies and complementary technologies, Synaptics is leveraging those acquired assets’ synergy to create highly integrated human interface solutions,” said Huibert Verhoeven, senior vice president and general manager, IoT Division, Synaptics. “Our comprehensive portfolio of market-leading voice and video solutions offer service providers a one-stop-shop technology partner that can help enhance their subscription TV services for a compelling consumer TV experience.”

Integrated Voice and Video:
Synaptics’ AudioSmart FFV capabilities are already market-proven in service provider STBs and were previously available only through discrete DSPs such as those deployed with major customers in South Korea. Now Synaptics has designed its SoC with integrated FFV that offers higher performance for enhanced voice processing capabilities. The VideoSmart VS-550 UHD SoC with quad core 15K DMIPs CPU performance and gaming caliber graphics is a market-leading solution for Android TV set-top-boxes and is currently being deployed across several Pay TV operators around the world.

The VS-550 infused with AudioSmart FFV capabilities provides STBs with a single-chip solution with voice features for all major speech-recognition engines, including those from Google and Amazon, as well as service providers’ own proprietary services. That integration also enables multimedia designs with higher performance and more FFV features than before, such as improved echo cancelation; more-powerful noise suppression; a customizable, high-performance voice-trigger solution; and industry-leading voice barge-in technology enabled by full-duplex acoustic echo cancellation which detects the wake-word even when the TV volume is high. Enabling a FFV solution in STBs is especially challenging, when compared to smart speakers, given that the audio playback is coming through TV speakers. The Synaptics solution overcomes this challenge with unique, proprietary technology which is field-proven, having been deployed in STBs for many years using AudioSmart discrete DSPs.

Standalone USB Accessory with FFV:
More than 300 million STBs shipped worldwide in 2017 – a figure expected to reach nearly 360 million units in 2018, according to a report by While STBs in development can have Synaptics’ new highly integrated VideoSmart SoC with AudioSmart FFV designed-in directly, millions among the installed base of STBs don’t have FFV capabilities. To minimize service provider capital expenditures, Synaptics also offers a solution for ODMs to develop a simple to use plug-in USB accessory that takes advantage of USB ports common in STBs, thus enhancing existing users’ experience with rich FFV features and provides a lower-cost alternative to standalone voice-assistant device.

IBC 2018 Conference:
Please join us at IBC 2018 in Amsterdam, Sept. 14-18, where Synaptics will be showcasing its latest voice and multimedia solutions for the smart home. To make an appointment at IBC, please contact your Synaptics account representative.

About Synaptics:

Synaptics’ broad portfolio of touch, display, biometrics, voice, audio, and multimedia products is built on the company’s rich R&D, extensive IP and dependable supply chain capabilities. Adams (Suits).  The podcast’s six episodes, each ranging from 15 – 20 minutes in length, will be available for download on iTunes and other major podcast platforms from September 19.
The brand new scripted audio drama is both uplifting and unconventional. The serial is an original podcast from Global, with ADT Security and Geico signed up as its first advertisers.

AMERICA 2.0 joins hundreds of other podcasts distributed by DAX, the digital audio advertising platform which allows brands to advertise programmatically at scale. Advertisers that run campaigns through DAX have access to sophisticated insights which help brands better understand audiences around the world.

AMERICA 2.0 tells the story of Seth McGuire (Adams), a first term congressman who happens to be an idealist and profound optimist. Entangled in his first ever controversy, Seth finds himself unable to navigate D.C.’s treachery. His only hope comes from his big idea, which will be revealed in the show’s first episode.

“We’re seeing tremendous growth in the podcast space as more and more people are consuming serials through audio channels,” said Matt Cutair, CEO of DAX US. “AMERICA 2.0 has all of the ingredients to build a loyal following - a timely story with a stellar cast - making it a valuable investment for brands and sponsors looking to connect with audiences in new ways.”

“America needs optimism, and AMERICA 2.0 is a true alternative to much of the heavy content that is being produced in the entertainment space right now,” said Mayank. “Having a distribution partner like DAX, which has access to the largest, most nuanced and sophisticated audience in the US, is critical to the podcast’s success.”

In addition to Fishburne and Adams, the podcast features other high-profile talent, including Shanola Hampton (Shameless), Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy), Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Autumn Reeser (The OC), Jack Coleman (Heroes), Spencer Garrett (Insecure), Dana Bash (CNN Political Correspondent) and Steven Weber (Ballers).

Sennheiser Communications evolves in new set-ups

Nasdaq Globewire - Tue, 11/09/2018 - 16:32

Investor news                                                                             11 September 2018

Sennheiser Communications evolves in new set-ups

Copenhagen/September 11, 2018 – William Demant Holding A/S (William Demant) and Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG (Sennheiser) see great opportunities lying ahead in all three business segments of Sennheiser Communications A/S (Sennheiser Communications). To be able to fully capture these opportunities, both parties have the wish to dedicate their focus on different business segments with full end-to-end responsibility. Therefore, William Demant and Sennheiser have decided to end their joint venture and let the business segments evolve in different set-ups. While the business segments of Enterprise Solutions and Gaming headsets will evolve as an independent business as part of the William Demant Group, the business segment of Mobile Music headsets will be part of the Sennheiser Consumer business in the future. The separation happens in good faith and the partners intend to continue their cooperation where synergies and opportunities exist.

- The joint venture has been a successful journey for both partners, during which we have collaborated on the development of new technology and have seen an ongoing growth of market shares. All three business segments continue to have tremendous potential for the future, said Daniel Sennheiser, co-CEO at Sennheiser to which Søren Nielsen, President & CEO at William Demant, adds - As the market dynamics have changed during the years and full end-to-end dedication is needed including a focused R&D approach, the time is now right to continue - each of us - in our own focused directions.

For more than 15 years, the joint venture Sennheiser Communications, a 50/50 split ownership between Sennheiser and William Demant, has successfully developed and promoted Sennheiser branded portfolios of Enterprise Solutions, Gaming and Mobile Music headsets. The end of the joint venture formally implies a cash free split of ownership structure.

The separation is planned for January 1, 2020. Until then, the company Sennheiser Communications will continue its business while Sennheiser and William Demant will prepare the separation in close partnership in order to ensure a seamless and smooth transition for employees, customers, suppliers and partners.

Going forward, William Demant will take over the business segments of Enterprise Solutions (CC&O) and Gaming including the distribution, which has been with Sennheiser until now. The new entity under William Demant will continue the license agreement with the Sennheiser brand for the Enterprise Solutions and Gaming portfolios. Throughout 2018 and 2019, profit sharing of Sennheiser Communications between Sennheiser and William Demant will remain as today.

- For William Demant this clearly shows our strong commitment to support the future growth in the two attractive business segments of Enterprise Solutions and Gaming. It is our intention to take the already existing global distribution set-up to a next level with a dedicated approach and we believe that R&D synergies within our Group will become even stronger going forward with the emerging trend of intelligent audio, low power connectivity and small form factors, said President & CEO Søren Nielsen, William Demant.

For Sennheiser, the integration of the mobile music business segment is a further consequent step in focusing on its core competencies and fostering its independency as a family-owned company.

- Sennheiser will further tap into the growing market of mobile music headsets with a clear focus on innovative “Smart & Connected” audio experiences. Our Consumer Division will become even stronger as all necessary competencies will be concentrated here. Within our Professional Division, the Business Communications segment – alongside wireless microphone technology – will continue to be a stronghold with attractive growth potentials ahead. The 3D audio technology AMBEO will also remain a crucial part in developing our future product portfolio within both the Consumer and the Professional Division, said Dr. Andreas Sennheiser, co-CEO at Sennheiser.

Current President of Sennheiser Communications Jeppe Dalberg-Larsen will continue to spearhead Sennheiser Communications during the transition period and William Demant’s new company after the separation:

- At Sennheiser Communications we have managed to build a global business having some of the finest people in the sound industry, with amazing double-digit growth rates year after year. I look forward to spearheading this continuation of passion for sound excellence in our new set-up. We see great potential in the market and with William Demant’s willingness to support our endeavours we will be equipped to accelerate growth, take on new markets and act more agile as an independent company. The strong R&D backbone will continue to fuel our innovation and thus enable us to bring strong premium audio concepts to the market, said Jeppe Dalberg-Larsen.
