HP Chromebook 14 Launched In India At Rs 23,990

HP Chromebook 14 comes with Intel Apollo Lake Processors and a starting price of Rs. 23,990.

 

HP announced the expansion of its Chromebook portfolio in India with new HP Chromebook 14 series that starts from Rs 23,990. The new Chromebook is powered by Intel's Apollo Lake dual core processors. 
 
HP had unveiled the Chromebook x360 in India earlier this month. Now the company has expanded its Chromebook portfolio by announcing Chromebook 14 series. In a statement Vickram Bedi, Senior Director, Personal Systems, HP Inc. India said, “After the successful introduction of HP Chromebook x360 recently, we are excited to expand our Chromebook portfolio in India to provide exceptional Chrome OS experience and power-packed PC performance to all users.”
 
 
The laptop will be available in two colour options – Snow White and Chalkboard Grey. Customers can purchase the laptop from one of the 250 HP World Stores, the HP Online Store, or from Amazon India and Flipkart. Those who buy the Chromebook 14 will receive a free one-year subscription to Google One. Other highlights include a 14-inch HD ultra-bright touchscreen, local language support , and access to more than one million Android Apps. The HP Chromebook 14 comes with 64GB of SSD storage and 100GB of Google Cloud storage. 
 
HP has also tied up with Jio to provide free 1 year subscription to Jio Digital apps. The laptop comes with up to 2GB RAM as well as 64GB of SSD storage and includes features such as Verified Boot. HP claims that the laptop has a boot time of less than 10 seconds.  Users will also receive the Meritnation education package worth Rs 35,000.
 
 
"With the rising proliferation of Android platform in India, we are witnessing an increasing preference among the Gen Z users for using apps as tools of computing. We want to cater to this new trend in India by introducing Chromebooks to the consumers that will provide them familiar experience and power-packed PC performance," said Anurag Arora, Lead, Consumer Personal Systems, HP India.  
 
Like other HP Chromebooks that have always had a simple and lightweight design, the new Chromebook 14 also has a similar design with a maximum thickness of 18.35mm and a weight of 1.54 kgs. The laptop comes with dual speakers powered by Bang & Olufsen to provide a surround sound experience. HP has included a 47 Whr battery in the laptop, which can last all day thanks to the Chrome OS. It also comes with a bunch of useful I/O ports including a card reader.
 
On the whole, the HP Chromebook 14 is best suited for the tech-savvy, on-the-go millenials and modern users who prefer to use the Google (Android) ecosystem for their various computing needs.
