Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (2019) With An Infinity-O Display Debuts In Korea

The mid-range device comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD screen and a triple camera setup.

While consumers in India wait for its first punch-hole type display smartphone, its heading to Samsung's homeland Korea soon. Samsung likes to call punch-hole screens as ‘Infinity-O’ display. The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (2019) is its latest upper mid-range smartphone to feature this display tech and is set to hit the South Korean market by the end of February. It is essentially the Samsung A8s, which was introduced in China last month. Prices for the A9 Pro (2019) are set at 599,500 Korean Won which translates to Rs 38,000 in India.

The handset looks premium with its curved glass back and metal frame construction. It gets fingerprint sensor at the back and the triple rear camera. At the front it sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ 2.5D LCD display with a selfie camera hole. This upper mid-range phone gets an equally adept octa core Snapdragon 710 SoC (SoC) which is based on the 10nm process and comes with Adreno 616 GPU for heavy gaming. It is equipped with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 128 GB via the microSD card slot. Audiophiles would be disappointed as it skips the 3.5mm jack for a USB Type-C audio.

The phone comes with a triple camera setup at the rear comprising of a 24-megapixel f/1.7 aperture, 10-megapixel telephoto with 2x optical zoom and a 5-megapixel sensor which captures depth information. The camera hole on the display carries the massive 24-megapixel f/2.0 selfie sensor.

Other notable features include Dual 4G VoLTE support, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, NFC etc. The handset runs on Android Oreo 8.1. It is powered by a 3,400 mAh battery under its hood which gets Adaptive Fast Charging tech.
