You Can Now Play The Iconic ‘Snake’ Game On FB Messenger

The game is now designed to be played with groups of friends.

‘Snake’ - just the name of this iconic game brings a multitude of nostalgic emotions inside you, and that’s when you are a true 90s kid. Having played it when young, the game disappeared in thin air with the fall of Nokia phones. That’s when smartphones invaded our life.

However, we now have a good news from HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, coming from MWC 2017, Barcelona. The company has announced a new version of the iconic game, Snake, available on Messenger as part of Facebook’s Instant Games cross platform experience.

The company has announced that the game is now designed to be played with groups of friends, which means that it would be more playable than ever before.

To add in, Snake first featured on Nokia handsets in the late 90s and since then has appeared on over 400 million phones. The press release by HMD Global also reads, “Users will no longer have to dig out their old handsets to get their nostalgia fix, instead HMD Global invites the world to unite through the free game and challenge friends to play, using Facebook’s Instant Games platform.”

Pekka Rantala, Chief Marketing Officer of HMD Global said, “The Snake game was the most popular game in the history of Nokia phones, in fact the true origin of mobile gaming can be traced back to a Nokia handset released in 1997.” He also added, “We were truly excited to work with them to bring back Snake in a modern format to a global audience. We hope in its new format it unites people across the world and brings as much joy to players as it did the first time around.”
