Transcend has impressed us before with its good quality mp3 players that are more economically viable compared to its competitors. T.sonic 630 is nothing less. The T.sonic 630 series of MP3 players is available in three high capacity colorful models, 1GB (Orchid), 2GB (White), and 4GB (Black). We had the opportunity to review the 2GB (White) Version, so here goes.

T.sonic 630 is, remarkably, a very versatile MP3 Player that not only plays the usual MP3, WMA, and recorded WAV music files but also WMA-DRM10 (subscription music). Besides this, it has many impressive extra features, which we shall discuss later. The first thing that impressed me was the look of the player. Smooth finish and good build quality was written all over it. And then I saw the display. Now according to Transcend, its white text (4-Line) OLED Display is easily viewed from any angle and in any light, so we decided to check it out. You can read the display in clear sunlight, which many players fail to accomplish. Besides that ability to be read easily, it's also very detailed and hence it's one of the best OLED Displays that we've seen yet.

Navigation is quite simple and hence very user-friendly. Measuring only 73 mm x 33 mm x 12.5 mm and weighing a mere 30g (with Li-ion battery), the T.sonic 630 easily slips into your pocket, or bag or for people like me, it's quite light around your neck.

hi. i bought a 4gb transcend pen drive 2months back and now intermittently it stops working. whenever i try coping or deleting data frm it, i get a message, the drive is write protected. i have to unplug & plug it back it and format it and it works for a while but the same problem again. plz let me know where i can replace the same in pune.

Problems and solutions 1. Device switching off automaticaly or immediatly after turned on 2. Shows no files on the device but on computer 3. tracks unable to play 4. sudden change in display and language. Solution: update the firmware or reinstal the firmware from transcend website. 1. Device not detected Solution: check your OS driver and install suitable drivers.

1. also check your OS for updated drivers. if you are using transcend on win9X or ME you need to download special drivers. 3. Check your USB port. Try connecting the device to a different USB port or other computer. If problem still persists, contact service center.

Also, as far as I came to know, the Cons. of T-Sonic 630 : 1) Bundled Earphone not good 2) File Transfer rate is slow 3) Minimum sound is bit high & maximum one is bit low (not suitable for crowded area) & also distorted.4) Virus prone 5) UI is bit unintuitive AND for MuVo T-200, Cons : 1) Battery lasts only 3-4 hrs against claimed of 9 hrs. 2) Limited file format support 3) Odd Fm scan 4) Unintuitive menu. Are all these observations correct ? Can I use AC-USB charger for these two safely ? Is Multitasking supported ? Can I use Creative EP-630 with these two ? What are the present street price of i) T-Sonic 630 ii) MuVo t200 iii) EP-630 ? So many Q's ! but please do advice :)

Hi I live in Chennai. I have been using TSonic 610 -2GB for the past 3 months. It gets charged with the USB port. recently Its getting swithed off within seconds after swithing on. When connected to computer (with power drawn from computer through USB it works well )Could this be battery problem. Where can i get this player serviced/ battery replaced in chennai? Pls advice.

Dont Worry rajan, its because the PC you connected the MP3 PLAYER contains a virus named 'fijacks'. try to get rid of the virus and update the firmware by utilising the CD you got along with the player. Hi! I too am facing exactly the same problem, my battery atleast shows up as fully charged, but the player still switches off very soon after being started.

this is not the battery problem, just connect ur mp3 player to USB or charger, it will switch on automatically then manually swtichoff the mp3player by pressing left side button. Remove the mp3player from charging and then again switch on manually. It will start working normally.

It is very simple to flash this player. Just visit the Transcend website and you will get all the guidance you require. Once you reflash, your virus will be gone.

T.sonic 630 is far better performance than 610 including sound quality. Battery life and stereo effects r amazing! Only bad thing is the bundled earphone, the same is provided for all transcend models i think so. I hav replaced it with creative EP480(32ohms) a good matching and it really rocks!(Rs 175 from sp road though the price noted is Rs 950 on net.) All the problems are coming onl becuase of 1 reason...not removing the hardware safely... and initialising problem came only when trying to charge with adpater and not with USB....

It should be available everywhere in sp road. I got it from an electronics shop. Ep480 is a particular type of earphone with abt 1.2m lengthy chord better for fm reception and neodymium magnet powered 32 ohms driver perfectly matching with t.sonic 630.Excellent overall frequency response for deeper bass and trebles.so go for it!

Try pressing the RESET button...........just press it! Don't hold it pressed!..............then it'll switch on.......it worked for my 4GB player........don't know why it happens......

I am having TRANSCEND sonic 2 GB mp3 player. Immediatly after switching on the player it gets off in few mts. I am not having bill to claim warrenty. already i gave the peace for repair twice. But still facing the same issue.. can any 1 suggest me a trusted dealer in chennai for service ? is it possible to install firmware into the player from the provided cd on our own instead of giving to dealer ( this may solve my problem I think !!)? please help me ....

yes. no need to give the player to the dealer for installing firmware. download latest firmware from transcend site. after installing it, u'll find a readme file, which contains the directions to install the firmware.

Hi, You can update the firmware with the help of that CD... I had a problem like that long back. One more reason is there might be no charge in the palyer.. Connect it to the comp for 2 Hrs and then try.. If you still face problem then contact: T.R. Computers Ph: 04442168988

Dont use ur mp3 player as pendrive,my advice. definetely viruses will be controlling ur mp3 player also.Go for t.sonic 630 2gb/4gb with bill and warranty.

From micro port it zone, s.p road right side corner. i havn't any problem for 1 months using, so get it from trusted dealers only.ther may be faulty as wel as duplicates.2gb 610 also pretty well.

really gud thing ,i appriciate u. but i will not recommend this tresend t.sonic company. i bought my mp3 player t.sonic 820 in chennai for 3000 very next day the battery dried ,no service station in india. n no way to go anyway. so that brand new is a waste product so i recommened all to buy gud branded company. ----------srinivasan.

I have Tsonic 2gb System, when i connect to the computer it is detecteting but i cant write any file it is showing write protected and showing "FS LOCK "in the player.When i switch on the player it is showing "initalizing T-sonic610" it is like got stucked plz help me

I am having a same problem like few others in here. My T sonic 610 - 2 GB is getting switched off as soon as i start it, most of the time. I am really getting fustrated over this. Hey try this.. When you try to switch on the device when the keys are locked.. it will go off. Try releasing the lock and switch it on.
