People with mindsets like yours are what's wrong with the world today. There's nothing about you that is better than anyone else. Get over yourself. On topic: I don't even know why the story headline said anything about 'gay'. That's not what the court case was even about.

Jesus and the bible only exist to those who believe. To those of us who don't, all of these scriptures and psalms have nothing to do with our reality. I wish people of faith would remember to respect others' religious and social beliefs.

Please name one society which have been "brought down" by homosexuality.... Is everything better in the parts of the world where being gay is a crime? Like in the arab states or africa? You should join your local nazi party and find some friends! I think you would fit right in with your theories....

Actual Bibe quote: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them. Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

A very interesting bit of scripture. As I read it it means God sentenced evil people (gave them over) to be attracted to others of their same sex. So, does this mean that heterosexuals must not be guilty of the listed sins because God hasn't changed their sexual orientation? I know some people who have certainly not been obedient to their parents who are heterosexuals. There also seems to be a lot of fornication going on between people who keep it up year after year without having their orientation changed. When will God change them and "give them over to a reprobate mind?"

Well, that's nice you can quote from your religious text. You can have your belief system. But just remember that this is not a theocracy. There ARE other religions, some are older and larger than christiananity. I'm not a member of any organized religion, nor am I gay. Gays don't bother me, consenting adults can do what they wish. Let me quote something a tad more relevant than the bible: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

The Bible was written about 2000 years ago, for all we know that is what they thought was best at the time but society is not static and your beliefs have to change with the times or you end up going no where. Also, I'm not singling out christians here, but doesn't religion teach you to be tolerant of others even if their beliefs or ways contradict your own? So whats the problem?

"Jesus and the bible only exist to those who believe. To those of us who don't, all of these scriptures and psalms have nothing to do with our reality. I wish people of faith would remember to respect others' religious and social beliefs." I was called a heathen for cutting my grass on easter sunday. I thought this was america? Apparently if you don't believe in god (who says i dont) or you work on sunday you're bad. I thought judging was supposed to be up to god? I guess we can pick and choose our beliefs. How come no one ever speaks out with this sort of passion about that? It's wrong for someone to be a homosexual... But it's ok to be a hypocrit. And then you shrug it off and say "its ok im not perfect, only jesus was". Sounds like an excuse to me. Its alright though.. The department of defense said that jesus would support a war in iraq. Hey, as long as they think so right? Who's up for banning organized religion?

Look at this sorry excuse of a person...God must be laughing at you..So are all the others...You certainly don't have the rights to talk about others religions

i don't see that chapter singling out homosexuals. It seems like it is saying if you reject god you will be given over to bad things.homosexuality being one of them .I suggest reading the next chapter of the book of romans. To Bsolo.Homosexuals are people(HA HA only evolutionists believe in anything sub-human!!:P).People should be treated with Love and Truth always.

A ridiculous non-story. Jerry tries to get around the First amendment apparently on the grounds that his name is "trade-marked." Even more legally preposterous than the Fox v. Al Franken suit. The only surprise is that this nonsense even got past the USDC. 90% of district courts would throw this puppy ou in a New York minute.

Well, the Reverend should know that if he goes public with his beliefs in this country, he should know that there will "feedback"...that's the rule when you speak in the spotlight, it's common sense in politics, or in any public position, one WILL be criticized for what he/she says openly. Ah yes, let's go out and judge these people and expect no one to say anything negative...riiiight as for the trademark issue...whatever, it was just a means for trying to put down that website

I agree that the title of this article is one of those media lies that happens all too often.
by Russell Simmons, Ramona, on Apr 19, 2006 04:58 AM, Report abuse Reply
The real lie is that there was NO DECISION here, and the media all too often takes the "liberty" of saying the supreme court has made a decision when it has MADE NONE at all. SCOTUS refuses to hear the MAJORITY of cases presented to it for any NUMBER of reasons, and the refusal to hear a case is not a decision itself--it does not support the status quo. The court did not "uphold" a lower court ruling or make a decision of its own. THERE WAS NO RULING BECAUSE THIS CASE WAS NEVER HEARD.

Gee..... you would have thought old Jerry would have mellowed by now. If it takes him from 1999 to know, there is something is missing from this report. Even in India, nobody is that slow to address a conflict of this nature..

Well, here, here, finally the Supreme Court has rendered a decision that coincides with the principles dictating common-sense. Bigots are allowed to be ignoramouses, but they should not subject the rest of us to a state of prejudice and, more generally, anti-intellectualism by censoring the work of other people.

"Pro-gay" to the heavily right-wing religious bigot editor/writer who titled the this piece. "Constitutionally correct" decision in the minds of those who enjoy freedom of speech and are tired of well funded idiots trying their best to silence their detractors.

Agree or not with Rev. Falwell, if someone was using your name or domain name spelled in a was that was similar to the original, you too would be upset about it. I've know several companies that won in and out of court of misspelled domain names. And just because he was ruled against doesn't mean that the court it pro-gay. How absurd!

How about this headline - "Supreme Court upholds The Constitution against wishes of politically well connected religious fanatic"

How does this make the decision "pro-gay". Let me guess - you never got that dream job at Fox News? ... oh well. Very depressing, so many stupid people, so little time.

homosexuals are a sub-human species, trying to spread their wickedness all over. they are the children of the beast, and I will never accept them as anything more. They are bringing societies down all over the world, with their unatural lusts.
