Delhi-based data care company Unistal is bundling Kaspersky anti-virus software with its data prevention tools.
Delhi-based data recovery company Unistal Systems has entered into an alliance with Kaspersky Labs, an information security company head quartered in Moscow, Russia.
Unistal will now offer its Crash Proof data loss prevention software with the Kaspersky anti-virus software. The company is also marking the completion of 10 years of operation by bundling the anti-virus software free with every Crash Proof box.
Besides bundling the Kaspersky anti-virus free with Crash Proof, Unistal would also be distributing the anti-virus solution from Kaspersky Labs to major PC manufacturers in the country.
According to Alok Gupta, director-marketing of Unistal Systems, "This alliance combines the well known strengths of Crash Proof for data loss prevention with that of Kaspersky Labs, who have the world's best scan engine. With this bundle offering we hope to switch the anti-virus market to that for data loss prevention without any additional cost."
Gupta said that in the recent past the dependency on computers and therefore the volume of information stored has increased exponentially but somehow buying solutions for protecting such information against loss or virus attack has not increased correspondingly. It's time that the users need to have effective protection against not just viruses but also situations like system crash, accidental file deletion, missing drives/folders, partition corruptions or for that matter accidental formatting of drives.
"Computer users will be doubly benefited by protecting their data against all such instances and at the same time have a very effective anti-virus on their machines," said Gupta.
Unistal's Crash Proof data loss prevention utility uses new heuristic technology, which saves the critical images of the disk while installing and updates them at regular intervals. When data loss occurs due to whatever logical reason, Crash Proof calculates the system parameters automatically and revives the data back. Thus recovering lost files and also reducing downtime.
