Airtel has announced the launch of "Airtel Expressions", to promote various forms of expression through performing arts.
Airtel has announced the launch of "Airtel Expressions", a platform to promote and celebrate the various forms of expressions through the medium of performing arts in Delhi.
The initiative is an endeavor to showcase cutting edge works across the genres of cinema, theater, music, dance and art and use them as vehicles of expression. Airtel's approach towards various art forms offers a proposition to the people of Delhi and hopes to expose them to varied mediums of expression.
Unveiling Airtel Expressions, Sanjay Nandrajog, Executive Director, Northern Region, Bharti Tele-Ventures, said, "We, at Airtel have always celebrated the various facets of expression, which are the essence of human emotions, and what better way to showcase these very expressions than through performing arts."
" Airtel Expressions will bring together artists from across the country with their exciting and interesting new productions in performing arts," said Nandrajog.
K. Srinivas, CEO, Airtel, Delhi said, "Airtel has always supported performing arts across all genres through the years like Legends of India Music Festival, India Foundation for the Arts, prominent artists like Swaroop Mukerjee and many more. This initiative will bring together all our programs for performing arts under one platform."
To begin with, "Airtel Expressions" will host two annual properties. The Airtel Expressions Festival of Performing Arts, to be presented in Delhi this year aims at providing audiences with a festival, which presents a broad range of acts representing various aspects of contemporary performing arts. The festival will bring together contemporary artists from across the country with their new productions in the performing arts.
Some of the performances and art forms to be showcased during this Festival will be specific contemporary productions in the various genres of performing arts like music, dance and theatre, while some others will straddle different genres in the performing arts moving between the boundaries of these genres that are slowly fading away. Some of the productions will address specific themes like multi-linguality in performance, use new media in innovative and relevant ways and address subjects that have not been widely explored in performance before.
The second property is the Airtel Expression Festival of Indian and International Cinema which will showcase some of the best works in popular cinema including Oscar winners like 'Shakespeare in Love' and 'Ray'.

We shall further honor legends of performing arts by conferring AIRTEL-Legends of India Lifetime Achievement Award which already has acquired the credibility by honoring Birju Maharaj, Zohra Segal, Habib Tanvir and Yamini Krishnamurthy to name a few.
