Micromax Canvas 6 Bets Big On Mid Premium Segment
Canvas 6 is the flagship series of Micromax in the mid price segment.
Entering into the Mid Premium segment, domestic smartphone maker Micromax Informatics recently launched its flagship series Canvas 6 in India. With the new offering, Micromax is betting big on 10K-20K price segment.
Priced at 13,999, Canvas 6 series is the first set of smartphones, which comes with a Micromax service platform called ‘Around’. Talking to Techtree at the launch, Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics, said that Canvas 6 is the flagship series of the company in the mid price segment.
Commenting on the stiff competition in the smartphone play, Sen said that being a Mass player, the focus of the company is becoming the unquestioned leader in the country.
Micromax also intends to ramp up domestic production to achieve its 100 per cent ‘Make in India’ plans and reduce dependence on imports. Sen said that the company is very much aligned with the Make in India initiative and expecting to play a major role in driving local manufacturing in the country.
The company aims to become the fastest growing brand in the country and also intends to reinforce its strength in the international market. Sen said that Micromax also intends to play a bigger role in the software and services play and also willing to enter into new consumer technology space.
