Twitter Comes Up With More Anti-Harassment Tools

Twiiter has reportedly increased the size of its support team to create a more cleaner tweeting environment.

To protect its users more, Twitter seems to have taken some serious steps in cracking down on those accounts which have been set up to harass others.

With more anti-harassment tools like reported mechanism to track phone numbers of the offenders, Twitter is adding several new enforcement actions.

It looks like a clear BEWARE board hung by Twitter for the offenders as these new options clearly go against those accounts that don't follow the rules and serve to discourage the behavior that goes against the micro-blogging giant's policies.

According to a recent blog post, Twitter's vice president for user services, Tina Bhatnagar has clearly stated that these new actions will not be visible to the vast majority of rule-abiding Twitter users.

Also, in the blog post, the Twitter is boasting about the increase in the size of the support team so that more focus can be given towards handling abuse reports.

It is also said that users who are temporarily banned for abusing the Twitter service will have to verify an email address or a phone number to regain access to the micro-blogging service.

According to a report by Verge, it is said that email addresses are relatively easier to obtain, but phone numbers are harder and by checking phone numbers against a list of banned users, Twitter could be able to keep more abusers and harassers from creating accounts.

It looks like a great step by Twitter in safe-guarding its users. Rest is all left upon the brilliant brains behind these fraudulent acts.

Like it is always said, if there is something good, then there is something bad too. It's just that the act of safeguarding that is important.

We hope these new policies and steps by Twitter help in safe-guarding more and more users and create a more cleaner tweeting environment.
