Xiaomi Will Soon Sell Mi Devices In India Via Its Own Website

It is the company’s first facility outside China; then again, India is also its second largest market.

Xiaomi has revealed that the company is pretty serious about the Indian smartphone market. While India is just second to China when it comes to smartphone sales, Xiaomi has managed to take the Indian market by storm by delivering great products at unbelievable prices.

But there’s more. Xiaomi also has plans to set up its own shopping website. Yes, by the end of 2015 Mi fans will be able purchase their smartphones straight from its online store.

Clearly that does not mean that Xiaomi will be breaking ties with its long time partner for sales, Flipkart. The Chinese smartphone maker is currently looking into matters such as warehousing and logistics partners in India to make operations smooth and dependable, in order to make the shopping experience for Xiaomi customers worth the effort.

There is also an R&D facility in Xiaomi's playbook. Xiaomi plans to open one in Bangalore where it will focus on localization, themes and then on India specific features that cater to local requirements in the Indian subcontinent.

Xiaomi just launched its Mi 4 smartphone in India yesterday that will soon go on sale for Rs 19,999 on the 10th of February on e-commerce website Flipkart. The handset was announced about 6 months ago last year, but still manages to garner a lot interest in the smartphone-hungry Indian mobile market.
