Here Is What The Xiaomi Redmi 2S Looks Like

While Xiaomi has been putting up teasers, someone managed to get their hands on the actual device.

 

The Redmi 1S was a complete success in India no matter which angle you look at it. So it was obvious that Xiaomi would work on such a product and deliver a better variant a year later. Off late the company has been teasing us with close-ups of its upcoming Redmi smartphone, which in all probability is a revamped version of the Redmi 1S.

Well, today we finally get a clearer picture of that very same smartphone and thanks to the leaker, even a comparison with the older one.

The freshly leaked images give us a clear comparison of the back and front sides of the smartphone, that the leaker refers to as the Redmi 2S. The design has been refreshed and while the screen size seems a bit smaller, this can only lead to a higher pixel count. We also understand that it is MIUI V6 running inside (from the display); what we do not know, is the version of Android that has been used as the base for the ROM.

The overall design of the Redmi 2S looks better than its previous iteration. The back gets some soft touch plastic similar to the Nexus 5 and the capacitive buttons up front get some refreshed icons. Again on the back, the single LED flash has been moved to the left of the camera lens.

Xiaomi just exhausted their last lot of Redmi 1S smartphones in just a few seconds, a couple of days ago in India; meaning that sales are pretty strong indeed. The new Redmi 2S thanks to leaked out information from TENAA should sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC (64-bit) clocked at 1.2 GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage that will be expandable. Also expected is an 8 MP shooter on the back and a 2 MP front facing unit. What is interesting and was leaked out once again thanks to TENAA is the fact that the smartphone will sport dual LTE bands as well. Let’s hope that Xiaomi has upped the battery unit of the original Redmi 1S which although sufficient still seems a bit small for LTE.
