Google Outs Android 5.0.1 Factory Image For The Nexus 5

Clearly not a part of the first wave of devices to get the update, Nexus 5 users always have the option of officially flashing their devices.

Google pushed out Android Lollipop 5.0 to thousands of Nexus devices worldwide and now that the bugs have been detected, has begun releasing another 5.0.1 update to fix them. While the newest Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 devices have been on the forefront when it comes to receiving the latest update. It's not the same story for what is one of Google’s finest Nexus smartphones till date, the Nexus 5.

While Nexus 5 owners have received the Android Lollipop update, there is a long list of bugs that the device has been facing; including issues with charging the smartphone post the update. While the roll out is currently taking place for the Nexus 6, Nexus 5 users will have to wait.

But Google’s come to the rescue once again as the company has put up the factory images of the 5.0.1 update for its Nexus 5 smartphone on its developer website. Those interested in tinkering (and for those who cannot wait) can head to the website and download a copy.

Installing it will be a bit tough, but those who are used to flashing ROMs will find the process pretty easy. Still then we suggest that you wait for the OTA update to reach your Nexus 5 smartphone instead.
