Rumor Suggests Motorola's Next Droid Will One-Up the Nexus 6

The device will supposedly feature a 5.9-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM

Motorola has a slew of new devices lined up for launch, including one that some claim to be a new monster Droid that will one-up the Nexus 6. The company launched its Droid Turbo last month, which while an ugly cousin of the new Moto X, was on par with the Motorola-built Nexus 6 in terms of performance.

New rumors suggest that Motorola is building a large phablet that will feature a 5.9-inch QuadHD display and a Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM. If true, those numbers would means we should have a new king of the Android smartphone hill, and more importantly a device more powerful than the Nexus 6.

However, with a speculative release date of mid-2015, there's enough time for the competition to churn out a device that's as powerful, if not more. Further, with the Droid Turbo being rebranded as the Moto Maxx for sale in markets outside the US, there's a huge possibility that the company will do the same with the monster Droid.

Considering the complete absence of proof and the somewhat shady source of the rumor, we would advice you not to get too excited just yet. However, given Motorola's recently proved prowess in building great Android devices, there could just be a hint of truth in those outrageous specifications.
