Microsoft To Unveil Windows 10 Consumer Preview In Late January

The company will host an event at which it will preview features such as its new touch interface dubbed "Continuum"

Microsoft is gearing up to detail the newly developed consumer features of its upcoming Windows release at an event that will be held in late January. The company has already made its Windows 10 Technical Preview widely available to the public, but many of the newly previewed features are directly aimed at enterprise users.

According to The Verge, while Microsoft will be present at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in early January, the company will hold a separate press event in late January to unveil the consumer preview of Windows 10.

While the last Windows 10 event was a sort of low-key, the upcoming consumer feature unveil will be much more substantial. Microsoft is expected to showcase features like its new touch interface dubbed “Continuum”, and even possibly detail plans for its upcoming phone, tablet and Xbox software interfaces.

The company claims that Windows 10 is built to run across multiple devices such as PCs, smartphones, tablets and even its Xbox One gaming console. It is expected that Continuum will make it possible for Microsoft's latest software to run on devices of of all types, while also improving interactions between them.
