Apple iPad Air 2 And iPad mini 3 With Touch ID Are Now Official

The company seems to have simply improved upon the previous generation this time around.

Apple has finally announced its new generation of iPads for the next year. The new iPad will be called the iPad Air 2, which replaces the original iPad Air and the iPad mini 3 that replaces last year’s mini. The Cupertino tech giant also announced a new gold colour for its new iPad range meaning that there is finally another colour option that iFans can choose from.

The Apple iPad Air 2 improves upon the older iPad Air in 3 important areas. There is a brand new Touch ID that has been built for improved security, for apps, payments and device security. Secondly there is the inclusion of the new and improved iSight camera that has finally seen a spec bump to 8 MP with 1.12 micron pixels, f/2.4 aperture and 1080p video recording and a new FaceTime HD camera with new sensor and f/2.2 aperture. Lastly, there is the new A8 chipset that is based on the 2nd generation 64-bit architecture that delivers 12 times faster performance for the CPU and 180 times faster performance compared to the original iPad. The iPad Air 2 is also thinner this year and this is thanks to refreshed fully laminated Retina Display that helps makes it thinner.
