Asus Launches WiCast EW2000

ASUS has unveiled its latest Wireless Home Digital Interface technology to wirelessly connect and stream 1080p HD visuals and high quality audio from the PC to an HDTV or external display. The WiCast EW2000 claims to support a transmission distance of up to 33 feet and transmits data at speeds of up to 3 Gb/s with a latency of less than 1 ms to ensure smooth and reliable playback. While it was launched last year, ASUS has now made it available in India.

The device is available as a small black box, which can be placed inconspicuously hidden anywhere. It sports a user-friendly interface to allow users to view and share high definition multimedia and web content. In addition to its intended usability at hi-tech homes, classrooms as well as offices can use it to display presentations, thus making it useful as an educational as well as a business tool.
