MWC 2012: HTC One Series Unveiled

One S, One X, and One V set to compete against Samsung's GALAXY series.

The Mobile World Congress 2012 (MWC) has kicked off at Barcelona, as have new products from various manufacturers. HTC has announced its new One series of smartphones that target both the premium and budget audience. The series includes three smartphones, named HTC One X, HTC One S, and HTC One V. Considering that the company registered a 52.55% revenue loss last year, it seems to have decided to focus on fewer and higher quality products. The HTC One series seems to be HTC's answer to the GALAXY series from Samsung, but the former has raised the bar with a better quality camera and audio experience.

The new lineup will feature the latest Android 4.0 (ICS) OS along with its new Sense 4 user interface. Also debuting will be the new Image Sense for photography with the 8 mp camera. The smartphones will also have an integrated ImageChip from HTC to improve the camera performance, even in bad lighting conditions. With the Video Pic feature, the smartphones will also be able to capture high-quality images while shooting videos. Sound enhancement comes from Beats Audio, while Dropbox integration will offer customers 25 GB of online storage for two years.
