Apple’s 5.5 Inch iPhone 6 Could Be More Powerful Than The 4.7 Inch One

Analysts with insider information point out that not only the processors, but even the touch modules will be different.

While the rumour mill has shifted sides to just the 4.7 inch iPhone for now, it seems that all is not lost for the 5.5 inch version. A Wall Street analyst believes (and this is with some clear insider information) that the 5.5 inch iPhone not only exists, but will also come with a beefier chipset and a different touch module.

This could be the case, as we had earlier reported that the Cupertino tech giant was facing problems with manufacturing bigger touch displays for the 5.5 inch iPhone 6. The display had touch sensitivity issues around the corners which may have led to the release date of the 5.5 inch model being delayed for now.

Cowen & Co. analyst Timothy Arcuri, has stated the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 will indeed feature a more powerful processor compared to the 4.7 inch model. This is evident simply because Apple does bump up the specs of its devices when they increase the screen size (or the resolution). This is important, as the bigger screens, keeping up with Apple’s Retina standards do pack in a lot more pixels than the smaller ones. This is evident from the A7 processor in the iPad Air is clocked at 1.39 GHz, compared to 1.29 GHz one found on iPad Mini.

What is important though, is that we are finally seeing bigger performance gaps between Apple’s devices. Indeed, it won’t lead to fragmentation issues, but Apple clearly seems to be going down the Android way where the ‘one device fits all’ approach clearly does not work any more.
