iOS Users Spend More Time Online Compared To The Android Herd

Android still triumphs all thanks to the massive number of handsets that move off store shelves every minute.

A new report generated by Net Applications, a company that monitors online traffic shows that iOS users are apparently seven times more active online compared to Android users. This clearly not a shock, but brings to light a lot of the tiny details that may show things such as why developers flock to iOS over Android.

Indeed, its not always about the numbers because Android is a clear winner out here. What it may be is due to the fact that iPhone or iOS owners are simply a lot more net savvy compared to Android device owners. This is clearly evident from the fact that a majority of Android sales are generated from low cost devices, which just get the job done, as compared to iOS devices that have been purpose built for tasks from the ground up (internet and media consumption).

The difference in online usage seems minor, but is huge thanks to Android's staggering sales.

Still then, this is also the reason why developers flock to iOS, because the big spenders are indeed paying a lot more for their iPhones and for the quality apps because they simply can do more with them. Android apps are as of now almost on par with their iOS counterparts, but certainly lack the polish that iOS apps possess. Hopefully Android L will change all of this, along with Google’s Material Design philosophy which the search giant stressed on during the last I/O event. Google’s media services as well have a long way to go in terms of quantity, quality and more importantly availability.
