Confirmed: Microsoft To Launch ‘Superman’ And ‘Tesla’ Very Soon

After putting much-awaited ‘McLaren’ handset to rest, the company is clearly focused on the mid and budget range for this quarter.

We already knew through the recently leaked out product release roadmap that Microsoft is indeed planning to launch three handsets by the end of this quarter. Well, now that the Lumia 530 is official, reports are now pouring in that Stephen Elop, Microsoft Devices Chief is supposedly showed off the two handsets at a recent private presentation.

The first handset is the long-rumoured ‘Superman’ which as put forth by Elop during the presentation would be the ultimate “selfie phone”. With a 5 MP front-facing snapper and 4.7 inch display that it is rumoured to come with, it seems that Microsoft has indeed got a selfie contender for the Windows Phone market after all.

Next up is a handset codenamed the ‘Tesla’ which is supposed to be a mid-range Windows Phone touted to bring PureView imaging to the masses. Yes, you thought correctly, it would indeed be the successor to the Lumia 720 which is the currently the only mid-range handset to sport the PureView technology built by Nokia. Stephen Elop reportedly called it an "affordable high-end phone" which kind of brings the goodness of PureView to the mid-segment.

We have already seen leaked images of the ‘Tesla’ albeit as the Lumia 830 in the past. The handset clearly looks like a mash up of the Nokia X series and the Lumia 930 in terms of design but may also be the first handset to sport the Nokia by Microsoft logo on the back.

With the presentations done, it will only be a matter of weeks until we hear of an announcement from Microsoft about these two new additions to the Windows Phone range.
