Microsoft Planning For Android-Powered Lumia Device?

As strange as it sounds, this could be Microsoft’s second attempt to expose consumers to Microsoft’s services.

Microsoft is pretty much clear and on the right path with Windows Phone. There is growth in terms of the ecosystem (albeit at a much slower pace), while handsets are moving off the shelves as well. So when a famed leaker reveals information about an Android-powered handset from Microsoft, we were all pretty much shocked about it.

The company has been trying its best to lure developers for its Nokia X platform. But that hasn't working out well, one because of the outdated hardware and two because no one is interested in running Microsoft’s unpolished products, coming from Google’s ecosystem of connected services.

@Evleaks is pretty good at predicting and he has come out with information about a number of mobile handsets including the Nokia Lumia 1020. So what should we expect? Definitely not a full-fledged Android handset running with Microsoft’s services built in. Even though this is a possibility where Microsoft could push its services (Bing, Office, Maps etc. ), it will not help Windows Phone in any other way.

Nokia users have always dreamt about a Nokia built handset running Google’s Android. Nokia’s (now Microsoft) expertise in building mobile handsets is clearly unmatched and adding Google’s Android to the mix, will definitely make everyone forget everything else.

But if this is going to be another Nokia X handset, we wish Microsoft the best of luck.
