GALAXY Note 3 Gets Download Booster And Knox 2.0 In UK

A bold step by a company who is known for not adding anything new to older devices.

Snapdragon 800-powered Note 3 users in the UK seem to be receiving firmware updates that add the two new GALAXY S5 features to the older phablet. The new features include the useful Download Booster, and the enterprise-ready KNOX 2.0 security add on. The update does not bring a shift to the next version of Android but simply adds upon the TouchWiz layer, bringing added functionality to the business-oriented handset.

The update also allow users in the UK to download the additional kids mode, which the handset earlier lacked in the form of short cut. Download Booster, a feature first introduced on the GALAXY S5 allows users to download via Wi-Fi and uses your ultra-fast 3G connection as well to give you high speed downloads. KNOX 2.0 on the other hand updates the security feature and gives your Note 3 the ability to separate business from pleasure by separating work and home data on your handset keeping things safe and sound.

The new firmware update is barely 185 MB in size and can be downloaded only in the UK. Again the update is available for Snapdragon 800-powered Note 3’s only, so we will have to hope and wait until Samsung decides whether the international version (available in India) should get the update as well.
