Google To Use Samsung Knox In Android L To Better Enterprise Security

Companies will team up to deliver a superior and secure Android experience for business without compromising the UX.

 

Samsung and Google have together announced at the I/O developers conference that they would be joining hands to deliver a secure Android enterprise experience. Google will be using a part of the Samsung KNOX technology, which will have its roots deep into the company’s next update for its smartphones called Android L.

The objective of this collaboration between Google and Samsung is to deliver a secure and seamless Android experience. Such an experience is required as enterprise mobility trends have now changed with BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) being the new standard among businesses and corporates.

Securing data now becomes a tougher job because employees often use their personal devices for work making it difficult for companies to keep track of data security. The collaboration will lead to Google developing Android L into a secure software that will deliver KNOX-like security without the need to punch in passwords; you will be able to switch from personal to work on the go, while your work files and applications stay secure on your phone without anything or anyone else tapping into it.

Clearly, we can see a lot of custom ROM users out there cringing to the news as KNOX is indeed a tough nut to crack when it comes to rooting and flashing Samsung Smartphones. But now that Google is going to add these features directly into the source code, means that things may get bit better for them as well.
