Micromax Canvas Knight A350 To Get A KitKat Upgrade?

The mid-range smartphone will now retail with Android KitKat out of the box.

Its good news for Micromax Canvas Knight A350 owners as the company as started advertising the handset with Android KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box. The phone was launched in March this year and definitely came with some interesting hardware, but lacked from the software standpoint. Now that Micromax itself is advertising the handset with KitKat, indicates that existing owners will get an update pretty soon.

The update will bring a host of improvements that come with a standard Android version upgrade. The iPhone inspired handset packs quite a punch with its 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek chipset which powers the 5 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) display. The handset comes with an impressive 16MP camera and 2350 mAh battery to complete the package.

With many international manufacturers switching to Android KitKat on low-end handsets, it makes clear sense that local brands in India follow the same; else they end up risking their market share.

The Micromax Canvas Knight A350 that was launched earlier this year, came with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box with no clear sign of an upgrade. Micromax usually does not provide software updates for its smartphones, but all of this would indeed change since Google’s new software policies force manufacturers to launch their phone with nothing but the latest version of Android.
