Quad-Core Powered Karbonn Smartphone Emerges On Flipkart For Rs 5,990

The Titanium S1 Plus' 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM are an oddity in the entry-level market.

Following the announcement of the entry-level Moto E in the Indian market, a new smartphone from local phone manufacturer Karbonn, the Titanium S1 Plus, has emerged on Flipkart for Rs 5,990. The most notable features the phone carries is a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

Spotted to Gigjets, the Titanium S1 Plus sports a 4-inch display with a measly resolution of 480×800 pixels, though it's quite apt for a phone of its price. The biggest surprise however is its powerful processor and abundance of RAM which certainly make it an oddity in the entry-level smartphone segment.

Hosed at the rear of the phone is a 5MP primary camera and an LED flash unit, while it also comes with a 0.3MP front facing camera. The Titanium S1 Plus runs Google's Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box, albeit a customised version.

The S1 Plus supports dual SIMs and comes with 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. On-board storage stands at 4GB, while users will have the option to expand storage up to 32GB via a microSD card. It comes with a 1,500 mAh battery, which on a device of its screen size should make for a full day of use.
