Exploit Allows You Call Your Contacts Without Unlocking Your iPhone; All Thanks To Siri

The exploit allows you to bypass the lock screen by simply asking Siri to place a call.

A newly discovered exploit by an iPhone user apparently allows you to bypass the lock screen and make calls even without knowing the Passcode. We all know how particular Apple is when it comes to security, but it’s really laughable when you discover such simple ways to get through all those years of coding.

It’s something that you would least expect your highly secure iPhone 4s, 5, 5c or 5s to do when someone wants to gets some details from your handset. According to the Sherif Hashim who found the exploit, all you have to do is ask Siri the right question.

The video gives us a clear demo of how one can bypass the lock screen and make a call. He initially asks Siri to open the contacts app, but Siri clearly asks for a passcode to be entered before proceeding. Next, he asks Siri to place a call and surprisingly Siri asks “With whom would you like to speak” and even goes on to selecting and calling the contact.

Sherif states that you can not only call but also message, edit, and share contacts without unlocking your lockscreen.

The obvious temporary fix is to disable Siri on the lock screen and keep your iPhone truly secure.
