Photo Messaging App, Snapchat Gets An Update; Introduces New Chat Feature

Built for privacy freaks, the new update also gives users the ability to share live video as well.

Snapchat makes for a great way keep in touch, especially if you do not want anyone to track what you have been upto. Launched just a year ago, the new photo messaging platform has evolved and grown into a large community of users.  Now, with its newest update, Snapchat finally introduces some long-awaited features.

One of them is the ability to chat and message your Snapchat contacts. The feature allows you to send messages which will (like all other Snapchat features) expire once you leave the conversation. The app will delete the conversations on both devices by default unless you have tapped on a particular message to save it.

Next up is a cool new live video option. We say cool because of how it has been implemented. We warn you though; the UI is a bit confusing and will take some time to get used to. To share a live video, all you have to do is simple press on the screen and keep it there. As long as both users have their fingers on their screens the video keeps streaming. To stop it all you have to do is lift your finger. Switching between cameras (front and rear) is easy, simply slide you finger upwards on the screen to flip to the other camera.

The update is now available for both iOS an Android. If you have not given it a try, we recommend you give it a shot right away.
