GALAXY S5 Sees Good Sales On Day One; Beats The GALAXY S4

The company pulled off one of its biggest launches ever, breaking the launch day sales record of its successor.

The GALAXY S5 did not raise too many eyebrows when it was unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress, but somehow it seems Samsung’s idea of simply polishing its products seems to have worked. News coming from Korea suggests that the GALAXY S5 has been a sales success, with opening day sales being 30% higher to that of the S4.

Samsung’s top executives must have definitely popped a bottle of champagne when the GALAXY S5 launched worldwide. In spite of not taking their advertising campaigns to the limits (lack of Apple poking ads), the Korean manufacturer seems to have got fans around the world excited with its newest dimpled creation. Long queues outside stores have been reported around Europe and many parts of the world, with buyers lining up to be the first to get their hands on Samsung’s latest flagship.

All the excitement from the buyer’s side seems to due to Samsung’s hard work improving the quality of its GALAXY flagship, rather than focusing on benchmarks and numbers. Well, whatever the trick was it certainly seems to have worked, as the opening day rush shows that buyers had indeed been waiting for the phone's launch.

Samsung has pulled off a classic trick, by launching the GALAXY S5 in 125 countries simultaneously on Friday, making it the company's biggest so far. In India, the handset currently retails for Rs 51,500 and is available online as well as in brick and mortar stores.
