Lenovo Launches The Budget A526 With Quad-Core Processing

Brings quad-core processing to the affordable range.

 

Lenovo has been pumping out some really good mid-range phones lately sporting MediaTek processors coupled with really good design. Their newest handset the A526 is no different.

Tapping into the budget range, the Lenovo A526 is the company’s newest budget phone to sport a quad-core MediaTek processor. Launched as the A526, the phone also becomes a part of their A series of affordable handsets which is why the handset is priced at Rs 9,499 only.

The handset sports a 4.5 inch (854 x 480 pixels) screen on the front along with a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. At the heart is a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor coupled with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a micro SD card. On the back is a 5 MP primary camera and sufficient 2000 mAh battery unit, all encased in a slim design. Being an affordable handset, the phone comes with dual-SIM and dual standby.

Feature-wise, the phone comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and includes a host of Lenovo DOit apps for seamless data sharing, security and syncing.

Commenting on the launch, Sudhin Mathur, Director-Smartphones, Lenovo India, said
“Out of the 876 million mobile phone users in India, about 10% of the users own a smartphone. However, today there is an influx of devices specifically targeted at this untapped segment in fast-growing markets like India. With the Lenovo A series range, we are looking at revolutionizing the concept of budget phones in India by offering consumers a superior smartphone experience at an affordable price point.”

The Lenovo A526 will go on sale on the 5th of April; comes only in blue and is priced at an affordable Rs 9,499.
