Rovio Unveils Its RPG Adventure Angry Birds Epic

Moving from an arcade model to turn-based RPG model, will the new Angry Birds game find a following?

 

Angry Birds Epic is finally out on iOS. It's live in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. As reported earlier, the Angry Birds Epic is a static RPG action.

We are all used to the arcade action that Angry Birds is known for offering. Looks like Rovio felt that sticking to just one genre was not the right strategy. The new game is set in the medieval era. As the game progresses, you can upgrade your characters weapons and powers similar to upgrading your cart in Angry Birds GO. The whole game takes place on a fantasy Piggy Island filled with mountains, beaches, and caves where you can begin your war on pigs. One can even switch between multiple birds during a battle, making it very similar to the highly addictive turn-based RPG games.

The game is based on free play model, so you can expect tons of ads and costly upgrades. Currently, it's only available on iOS in a few countries since it is a soft launch. Even though RPG fans would be more than glad to have Angry Birds on board, Angry Birds Epic will certainly not be everyone’s cup of tea.
