Nokia Lumia Icon’s International Cousin To Be Unveiled In April

Will we just see a design refresh of the Lumia Icon?

We all loved the Lumia 920, made by then struggling Nokia, it was an innovative on many counts. PureMotion HD+ screen with swift refresh rates, Optical image stabilisation (OIS) in camera, and a ClearBlack display for deeper blacks were some of its high points. We then finally got a glimpse of what its successor would be like when the company unveiled Lumia Icon the USA.

The Icon did not bring much to the table save for some hardware upgrade. It was basically a phone that everyone wanted minus the industrial design that most were not fans of. It was a solution to the chunky Nokia 1520 which most people drifted away from due to its sheer size.

The Twitter handle @EvLeaks has just tweeted that Nokia will be holding another event on the 19th of April. What should we expect? Just another Lumia Icon dressed up in better body? Or will we see some better technology packed in there? The Icon already contains most of the features Nokia has to offer except for the 41 megapixel camera with a physical shutter, last seen on the 1020.

Nokia was all excited about the Nokia X at the MWC; and somehow had nothing for the Windows Phone lovers who had high-hopes for a new product. But why would they? With a Windows Phone 8.1 launch scheduled for mid-April, it all makes sense doesn’t it? Announce a new Windows Phone with the latest software.

So will Nokia make the ultimate Windows Phone? Or will it simply give us that one thing less like they always do. Let us know in the comments below.
