Samsung Windows Phone 8.1 Handset To Be Christened As The ATIV SE

Hope they hold back on the GALAXY S5 look for this one.

Back in Windows Phone 7 days, Samsung was one of the major companies pushing out quality Windows Phone devices. After Nokia concentrated its efforts on Microsoft's platform, the Korean company has been giving WP OS a cold shoulder. However, Samsung hasn't completely gave up on the platform yet. According to Twitter handle @Eveaks, Samsung is ready to launch a Verizon branded Windows Phone device. The handset currently, is one of the only ones out there claiming to run Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box.

Even though the handset’s image was leaked out earlier, the name has finally been confirmed — Samsung ATIV SE. @EvLeaks is a quite credible source when it comes to speculations. So we assume that this one will be correct as well.

From its earlier leaked image, the device seems to sport a metallic finish on its front. We hope that Samsung continues the use of metal on its high-end Windows Phone range. Yes, Samsung we don't want to see another GALAXY S5 like plasticky phone from your camp.

Even though this is a Verizon handset, we hope to see a global release of its slightly tweaked variant.
