Samsung GALAXY S4 Bites Into Kitkat In India

Brings album art on lock screen, launcher settings, and an enhanced user interface.

After landing in Russia last week, the GALAXY S4 KitKat update has now started rolling out in India. Samsung is not that good when it comes to delivering updates on time, the same goes for the handsets as they always happen to launch them before the next Android update is scheduled for release.

Similar was the case with the GALAXY S4. The phone was launched with Jelly Bean V 4.2 in April and then KitKat was launched with the Nexus 5 in November 2013. It was quite a long wait, but finally the handset finally saw V 4.3 of Jelly Bean, even though KitKat was already out and running. It was only this year just before the GALAXY S5 launch that KitKat started rolling out to the S4s. Anyway the much-awaited update brings a lot to GALAXY S4:

  • Status bar icons now in KitKat White from Green
  • Lock screen Camera shortcut
  • New launcher settings menu with options for Home screen and SMS
  • Samsung Keyboard layout improved in landscape mode
  • Full screen music album art in the lock screen
  • Improved user interface
  • Stability and performance improvements

The update is 353 MB in size and can be downloaded OTA (over the air) or even on your PC via Kies which is a more stable option.
