MWC 2014: Nokia 220 Is The Company’s Most Affordable Handset

After unveiling a trio of Android devices, Nokia has revealed a mass market feature phone 220. For those not in the know, the new phone is a successor of Nokia’s 110. The 220 is a basic Internet-enable device is powered by the cloud powered Nokia Xpress Browser, The browser features server-sided data compresses, which significantly cuts down the internet costs. The phone also comes preloaded with popular social networking apps including Facebook and Twitter. Other features include an in-built MP3 player, video player, and FM radio (headset required). It also ships with six Gameloft games Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Assassin Creed, Block Breaker 3, Brain Challenge 3 and Modern Combat 2.

The phone features a 2.4-inch colour screen, a 2 megapixel camera, and up to 32 GB microSD card. On the connectivity front, you get micro USB port and Bluetooth 2.1. This handset targeted at emerging markets come in single and dual-SIM variant. According to Nokia, the phone offers 24 days standby time for the dual-SIM model and 29 days for the single-SIM version. The phone also features an LED flashlight.

The Nokia 220 is priced at around EUR 29 (Rs 2500). Similar to other Nokia phones, this handset comes in bold colours such as red, yellow, and cyan. Of course, you can also opt for white and black.
