Samsung GALAXY Note 3 Neo Hits The Indian Market

The watered-down Note 3 is up on pre-order for Rs 39,000.

They first did it with the GALAXY S4 and now they seem to be following suit with the Note 3 as well. We are talking about mindless pricing here by the smartphone-maker has handset for every size — Samsung.

The GALAXY Note 3 Neo has been put on pre-order for Rs 39,000. The pricing seems to be steep for a phone that packs in a 5.5 inch HD screen and last year’s clock speeds. Its 8 MP BSI sensor module makes no sense, considering that Sony's recently launched Xperia Z1 Compact (Rs 37,000) packs in a 20 MP sensor. We understand the Neo range is supposed to be toned down versions of Samsung’s bestsellers, but we think paying for last year’s hardware specs seems a bit too much considering that the GALAXY Note 3 now retails on Flipkart for Rs 45,000.

Here’s a spec rundown of the two:

  • Note 3 Neo vs Note 3
  • Screen: 720 x 1280 pixels, 5.5 inches (267 ppi) vs 1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.7 inches (386 ppi)
  • RAM: 2 GB RAM vs 3GB RAM
  • Camera: 8 MP vs 13 MP
  • Processor: 1.7 GHz Quad-Core vs 1.9 GHz Quad-Core
  • Video Recording: 1080p@30fps vs 2160p@30fps
  • Battery: 3100 mAh vs 3200 mAh

The handset comes in Black, Mint Green and White. But only the black version is available for pre-order.

So which one will you choose? Considering that they look identical?
