Lenovo Heats Up The High-End Market With Its Vibe Z

Lenovo finally launches a do it all smartphone.

We all know what we want when it comes to the current crop of flagships smartphones. We have this checklist of specs that we always keep in mind while figuring out whether the new comer is worthy or not. Lenovo has finally launched a phone that ticks all those boxes:

  • Processor? 2.2 Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 800. Check!
  • Display? 5.5 Inch 1920x1080 IPS at 400 ppi. Check!
  • Software? Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the Vibe Skinning. Check!
  • Camera? 13 Mega-Pixel Sony Exmor RS primary camera with a 5 Mega-Pixel 84-degree wide secondary Double Check!

If you were thinking that this phone will offer more value compared to the likes of Samsung and Apple, you're in for a disappointment. The Vibe Z has been priced at Rs 36,000. While the Snapdragon powered Nexus hovers at Rs 33,000, the camera set-up on the Vibe Z seems pretty much worth the price tag. It flaunts a premium design that is 7.9 mm thick, weighing in at just 147 grams (the device comes with a 3000 mAh battery) makes this handset quite an all-rounder on paper. Let’s just hope that the camera’s unit keeps up with the rest of the crop of flagships from Samsung, LG and HTC.

The phone is available in silver and titanium colors and will go on sale later this month.
