The mobile social networking app is available on smart and dumb phones alike.

Mxit, the biggest mobile social network in South Africa has landed in India. The announcement was made by the popular cricketer Gary Kirsten. This free app comes with features such as Group Chat where you can add up to 50 friends. Backdrop is another interesting feature that lets you change the background in a chat window using photos from your Photo Stream. You can add cover photos to profiles for better personalisation. Not just smartphones, the app is compatible with feature phones. You can download it on Java, Nokia OS, iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Windows phone. It's currently available in English & Hindi. The developers have promised support for ten more Indian languages (Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese and Oriya) within six months.
