LINE Messenger App Hits 10 Million Mark In India

Seems to be catching up with the likes of WhatsApp; ropes in Katrina Kaif as brand ambassador.

 

The LINE messenger app, which had been launched in July 2013, already boasts of 10 million users in India. The Japan-based company has also roped in Katrina Kaif as its brand ambassador, with the TV commercial campaign kicking off on 11th October. LINE will be releasing free India-exclusive stickers, featuring photographs of Katrina Kaif.

"This Diwali is going to be special because LINE has added a host of exciting offerings for us. I now have an account especially created to interact with my fans. The stickers are adorable and I can’t wait to get my hands on the new Katrina sticker", said Katrina Kaif.

LINE has also partnered with Sony India, so Sony's flagship models, Xperia Z1 and the Xperia C will come pre-installed with the app. LINE will also be giving exclusive content to its customers for forthcoming movies such as Krrish 3 and DHOOM 3. With the recent roll-out of free video calls and video sharing capabilities, LINE is set to bring high-quality communication to Indian users.
