XOLO Q700 Quad-Core Smartphone Available For Rs 9,900
The budget smartphone features a 4.5" IPS screen, 5 megapixel camera, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.2).
After releasing the quad-core Q800 in march, XOLO is back with another powerful phone called Q700. As its model number suggests, the new entrant is a notch below its elder sibling. The phone features a 5 megapixel camera as compared to the Q800's 8 MP snapper. There shouldn't be much difference between their performance though, as both handsets are backed by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor based on the Mediatek SOC and 1 GB of RAM. The 4.5" IPS screen has pixel dimensions of 540x960. According to the company, the display uses OGS (One Glass Solution) technology that eliminates the space between your display and touchscreen allowing you to almost touch what's on your display. Other than that, you get 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3G, and 2400 mAh battery. On the software front, it packs in the latest - Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Detailed tech specs are as follows:
- 4.5" IPS screen (960x540 pixels), features OGS technology.
- 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM.
- 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, VGA front camera.
- 4 GB of internal memory, Micro-SD card slot for expansion up to 32 GB.
- Bluetooth 3.0, 3G, Wi-Fi, and micro-USB for connectivity.
- Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system.
- 2400 mAh battery.
While we haven't tested the device yet, at least on paper, it seems like a very good deal for Rs 9,900. The Q700 gets an edge over other similarly priced quad-core phones since most of them either feature half the amount of RAM compared to XOLO's offering, or miss out on an IPS screen, or simply run an older version of Android out of the box.
