Apple WWDC Event Scheduled For June 10th

The event's tickets sold out in less than 2 minutes.

 

Apple has scheduled its much-awaited Worldwide Developer Conference from 10-14 June 2013 at San Francisco. And tickets were put on sale online after a one day notice on 25th April 2013 at 10 am PDT (10.30 pm IST). This year's WWDC is a must-attend event for iOS and OS X developers according to Apple and there are rumors and speculations of Apple unveiling the next iPhone and also some new innovations in the developer tools and software technologies.

Google I/O is scheduled for 15th May 2013, which is just three weeks before WWDC at the same venue. Registrations for Google I/O 2013 was sold out in 49 minutes. But WWDC 2013 sold out 6000 tickets in under two minutes. Developer Will Strafach (@chronic) notes that the event was actually sold out in one minute and 40 seconds.

WWDC tickets were priced at $1500 per ticket for a week long event and it is estimated that Apple made $8.9 million from the sale of the tickets which is roughly $89,000 per second. In 2012, WWDC tickets were sold out in 2 hours.

Rumors had it that Apple may be thinking of more bright coloured iPhones and enthusiasts are taking a clue from the colorful logo of the event.
