Wickedleak Wammy Passion 'Y' HD Launched, Quad-core Phablet At Rs 17,000

Runs on Android 4.1, offers 5-inch HD resolution screen, and is now available for pre-booking online.

UPDATE: The Wammy Passion 'Y' HD now comes with Android 4.2.

Priced 20 percent more than the Micromax A116 but offering a higher capacity battery, the Wickedleak Wammy Passion 'Y' HD phablet launches today. From today, it is available for pre-booking on the company's website at Rs 16,999 (excluding tax) and will hit the retail sales channel on 14th March.

The handset maker offers a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, using MediaTek's MT6589 chipset. We've recently covered the launch of two other phones that are priced lower but offer similar specs and use the same SoC - Micromax Canvas HD A116 and Umi X2.

The MT6589 is a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor that offers good performance for its power consumption, but do not expect benchmark performance to exceed other quad-core chipsets seen in smartphones by well-known brands.

The retail bundle of the Wammy Passion includes a charger, a USB data cable, a screen protector and an earphone. Unexpectedly, an extra battery is part of the package.
