Videocon A27 With 4" Screen At Rs 6000

Budget smartphone offers 1 GHz processor, 3 MP camera, and dual-SIM functionality.

Videocon (a known TV brand in India) has been releasing phones at a regular interval. To make its entry-level portfolio strong, it has now rolled out the A27. This phone's 4" screen has pixel dimensions of 480x800. Like all current budget handsets, it packs in a 1 GHz processor.

The Videocon A27 features Android 4.0 (ICS), which is good enough considering most inexpensive phones still ship with the even older Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Other features include dual-SIM (GSM) support, 3 Megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and 3G support. Detailed specs are as below:

  • 4" capacitive screen with 480x800 pixels.
  • 1 GHz processor.
  • 512 MB RAM.
  • 2 GB internal storage.
  • microSD card slot.
  • 3 MP primary rear camera.
  • 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera.
  • 3.5 mm audio jack, FM Radio with recording.
  • 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi for connectivity.
  • Dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) with dual standby.
  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
  • 1500 mAh battery.

The specs may not sound impressive, but then what it offers isn't bad for Rs 6000. As for similar alternatives, there's the Micromax A89 Ninja that's 200 bucks dearer than this one.
