Spice Stellar Buddy Mi-315 Launched At Rs 3500 With Android 2.3

Budget handset offers 1 GHz processor, 3.2 MP camera and dual-SIM functionality.

Indian manufacturer Spice has unveiled its budget Stellar Buddy Mi-315 smartphone. This dual-SIM (GSM) handset offers EDGE, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor, and has 256 MB of RAM. The Mi-315 sports a 3.2" capacitive touchscreen, but the manufacturers haven't shed any light on its pixel dimensions. Moving on, there's a 3.2 megapixel camera coupled with an LED flash. Here's the complete run-down of specs:

  • 3.2" capacitive touchscreen.
  • 3.2 megapixel camera, lacks front-facing camera.
  • 1 GHz Processor, 256 MB of RAM.
  • 512 MB of internal storage, has microSD card slot.
  • 1400 mAh battery.
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS.
  • Dual-SIM (GSM + GSM), lacks 3G support.

The phone is compatible with Google's Play Store, and comes preinstalled with NetQin Mobile Security software. The Stellar Buddy Mi-315 is priced at Rs 3500, and is available through a couple of online stores including Spice's very Saholic.com. I was about to grumble about the outdated version of Android, but then, you can't expect more for three and a half grand. To be frank, you usually get only a decent "dumb" phone at its price point, so a smartphone is a bonus.
