Micromax Flaunts Android 4.0 Based A89 Ninja Dual-SIM Handset

ICS smartphone supporting 3G connectivity listed on the company's website; surfaces online at price of Rs 6,190.


If there weren't enough low-cost Androids swarming the market, Micromax has taken it upon itself to spoil budget users with more choices. After the Smarty 4.3 A65 with a street price of Rs 5000, the company has launched another handset: the Micromax A89 Ninja, that has an online retailer price of Rs 6190.

The A89 Ninja is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 CPU and 512 MB of RAM. The dual-SIM phone sports a 4" WVGA display and runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box. Complete specifications are as under:

  • 4" TFT WVGA touchscreen with pixel dimensions of 480x800 (262k colours).
  • Video formats: 3GP, MP4; Audio formats: MP3, WAV, MIDI.
  • 720p video playback @30fps.
  • 1450 mAh battery with claimed talktime of 4 hours and standby time of 7 days.
  • 1 GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 CPU, 512 MB of RAM.

Like other Micromax smartphones, this one also comes pre-loaded with apps such as Hook up, M! live, M! store, M! Zone+, Fruit devil, and Darkman. The Micromax A89 Ninja appears as. It is listed at a price of Rs 6,190 at online retailers but was out of stock when we checked. However, an eBay listing quotes a price of Rs 6,990.
