Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 tablet launched in India for Rs 14,000

The Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 is incorporated with the Ice Cream Sandwich variant of the Android operating system

Lenovo has launched the IdeaTab A2107 tablet in India and the tablet is expected to cost around Rs 14,000. The 7" Android 4.0 tablet has a 1024x600  pixels screen, and has a claimed battery life of  8 hours. There's access to the Lenovo App Shop which contains apps that are tailor-made for Lenovo tablets.

The CPU is a 1.0 Ghz single core Cortex A9 and RAM is 512MB for Wi-Fi only model (1GB for the 3G model). These specs are quite modest, but given our experience with devices with similar specs, we can say that it's enough to handle your usual internet browsing, multimedia playback and Angry Birds.

Technical specifications of the Lenovo IdeaPad A2107:

  • MediaTek 6575 1.0 Ghz Cortex A9 processor
  • Google Ice Cream Sandwich operating system
  • 1GB DDR2 RAM for the 3G variant and 512MB DDR2 RAM for the Wi-Fi only model
  • 0.3MP front camera and 2.0 MP rear camera for photography and video chatting
  • 7 inch LED backlit display screen having a resolution of 1024X600 pixels
  • Micro USB, Micro SD card ports present
  • Upto 16 GB internal storage supported
  • Stereo speakers
  • Weight: 400 grams

Lenovo has priced the A2107 (couldn't they come up with a name that does not sound like that of a robot from a pre 1990 sci-fi movie? ) rather sensibly. Huawei's MediaPad 7 Lite which is in the same price range, has similar specifications.
