CES 2013: Hands on Ubuntu Phone OS by Mark Shuttleworth

Expected arrival late February during MWC 2013.

 

Just about a week ago Canonical announced Ubuntu OS for smartphones along with some hardware details and a brief trailer on how the OS looks like. Now on the floor of Consumer Electronics Show, Mark Shuttleworth (founder of Canonical Ltd.) gave a small demonstration of the new Operating System on his Galaxy Nexus to twil.tv. Mark informed that Galaxy nexus would be able to run the full Desktop version of Ubuntu Phone OS, which would require at least 1.5 GHz dual-core processor for optimal experience. Reports also claim that the installable image for Galaxy Nexus will be available for download along with the source code during late February, probably during the Mobile World Congress between 25th - 28th February.
